BJP Suvendu Adhikari skips Bengal guv oath-taking over seating plan

Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari did not attend the event. Adhikari tweeted a photo of arrangements at Raj Bhavan and slammed the 'uncultured conduct of Department of Information and Cultural Affairs...'

Being the Leader of the Opposition, I am the representative of the people of WB. So it is my duty to apprise the constitutional head of the state about various issues that have plagued our state; such as unabated corruption, deteriorating law & order and financial insolvency.”

He also claimed the photograph showed a ‘political vendetta’ on the part of the ruling Trinamool Congress and attacked chief minister Mamata Banerjee. The BJP leader also claimed that the Trinamool government was pursuing “vindictive” politics as it was yet to come to terms with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s poll defeat to him in Nandigram.

Mr Adhikari further pointed out that Trinamool MPs Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Mala Roy were given front row seats at the event, while BJP’s Balurghat MP and state president Sukanta Majumdar was assigned a rear row seat.
