Blatant violation of Covid norms in MP, 30 children jabbed with 1 syringe, then asked “What’s my fault?”

Sagar: In yet another shocking incident came into light in a private school in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Blatant violation of Covid norms. During the covid vaccination at Jain Public School here, 30 children were vaccinated with a single syringe. A corona vaccination camp was organized for the children in the school, during the vaccination session some parents complained that the vaccinator had vaccinated more than one child with the same syringe.

Jitendra, who vaccinated, claimed that only one syringe was sent by the authorities and he was ordered by the “head of the department” to vaccinate all children with it. In a video recorded by the parents of the students, Jitendra said that he does not know his name.

Asked if he was aware that one syringe should not be used to inject multiple people, Jitendra said, “I know it. That is why I asked him if I should use only one syringe.” And he said ‘yes’. How is it my fault? I did what I was told to do.”

Due to the seriousness of the complaint, Collector in-charge Kshitij Singhal immediately instructed the Chief Medical and Health Officer, he was told by the people present that vaccination has been done with the same syringe. Vaccinator was not present there during the inspection. Vaccines and vaccine supplies were sent in the morning under the direction of the District Immunization Officer.

Efforts were made to contact the vaccinator but his phone was found to be switched off. In this case, a departmental inquiry has been made against District Immunization Officer Dr. Rakesh Roshan, before the Divisional Commissioner to take action. The administration has lodged an FIR against the vaccinator at Gopalganj police station for negligence in work under the Vaccination Maha Abhiyan.

A departmental inquiry has also been started against Dr. Rakesh Roshan, the District Immunization Officer in charge of sending the vaccine and other essential materials.
