Bollywood Actress Nora questioned by EOW of Delhi Police in Rs 200 crore extortion case.
New Delhi: Nora Fatehi was again interrogated in the case of extortion of Rs 200 crore against thug Sukesh Chandrashekhar by Delhi Police for about 6 hours yesterday. Nora Fatehi was questioned by the EOW of Delhi Police. Now, Delhi Police will interrogate Jacqueline on 12 September.
EOW interrogated actress Nora Fatehi for 6 hours in Sukesh Chandrashekhar cheating case. On Friday from 11 am to 6 pm, Nora was present in the Economic Offenses Wing on Mandir Marg. He got his statement recorded. If needed, Nora can be called again for questioning. EOW has called Jacqueline on 12 September. The Enforcement Directorate had earlier questioned Sukesh Chandasekhar and Ms Fatehi together on suspicion of money laundering. This inquiry is also part of ED’s charge sheet in the money trail of the extortion case.
When questioned by the investigating agency, Ms Fatehi refused to speak to the thief before December 12, 2020, while Sukesh claimed that he had spoken to her two weeks before an incident. Sukesh Chandrashekhar, however, said that he had gifted the Bollywood actor four bags – which he himself had chosen – along with some money. He claimed that Ms Fatehi’s staff picked up the bags at a mall in Mumbai.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar allegedly extorted around Rs 215 crore from Aditi Singh and Shivendra Singh – former promoters of pharmaceutical giant Ranbaxy. A Delhi court had sent Sukesh Chandrashekhar and his wife Leena Maria Paul to three-day ED remand in connection with an extortion case of Rs 200 crore. He was arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for running an extortion racket from a Delhi jail.
Nora Fatehi had earlier said that Leena Maria Paul called her and put the phone on speaker, where Sukesh thanked her and said that she is her fan. She then announced that they were going to gift her a new BMW car as a token of love and generosity. Ms Fatehi’s statements were recorded twice in 2021 under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, where she said that she had received bookings for a charity event and during the event, she was given a ticket by Sukesh’s wife. Gucci bags and an iPhone were gifted.
