The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena got permission from the Bombay High Court to hold its yearly Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park between October 2 and October 6 in central Mumbai.
Mumbai: The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena approached the Bombay High Court in order to get permission to hold its yearly Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park between October 2 and October 6 in central Mumbai.
In fact, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena was given permission by the Bombay High Court to hold a Dussehra rally, with the condition that law and order should be maintained during the event at any cost.
Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted in response to the court’s order: “One Shiv Sena, One Shivtirtha, One Party Leader. A solitary Dussehra gathering. The roar of the tiger will be heard on October 5!”
The plea said that the Shiv Sena has been organising the rally at Shivaji Park every year since 1966. Despite the fact that Shivaji Park is a recreational area and such events are not permitted. But the Bombay High Court granted the party permission to hold the rally from 2015 to 2019.
However, despite the fact that the Dussehra Melawa/rally is scheduled at Shivaji Park on October 5, 2022, from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm, the petitioners made applications to the BMC to get permission on August 22 and August 26, 2022,” the plea adding, “However, despite the fact that more than 20 days have passed and the scheduled date is approaching, the BMC has not responded or granted the said permission yet.”
However, the Bombay High Court has given permission to the party to hold a Dussehra rally.
