Australia suffered a blow as its ace fast bowler Mitchell Starc confirmed he would miss the opening Test amid a finger injury.
Starc had suffered an injury during the second Test against South Africa in the recently concluded series, so the speedster ruled out the third Test against the Proteas.
The 33-year-old fast bowler said: “I am on track, still a couple of weeks and then probably meet the guys in Delhi..after hopefully a first Test match win..get myself into training over there.”
Australian pacers are capable of taking wickets, but their past performance on Indian pitches is abysmal. Currently, Team India is in tremendous form. Everyone knows exactly what they have to do; one silly mistake may be the reason for the omission of a player from the side. Stiff competition for every place has raised the game of the Indian cricket team.
