Brazen Theft at Chhatarpur Showroom: Designer Clothes Worth Rs. 25 Lakh Stolen

New Delhi: In a daring heist, thieves targeted a showroom in Chhatarpur during the early hours of Thursday, making away with designer clothes valued at ₹25 lakh. This incident follows closely on the heels of a recent high-profile burglary at a jewellery shop in Bhogal, where a significant amount of gold and diamond ornaments were stolen.

According to CCTV footage, the thieves struck around 3:45 am, breaking the showroom’s lock to gain entry. They swiftly collected the designer clothes and left the premises at approximately 4:30 am. The incident was reported to the Mehrauli Police Station at 6:42 am, leading to an immediate investigation.

Law enforcement officials have launched a comprehensive inquiry into the matter. A specialized team has been deployed to apprehend the culprits responsible for this audacious theft. This incident echoes a similar case in September, where a burglar named Lokesh Srivas targeted a jewellery store in Bhogal, stealing gold and diamond ornaments worth over ₹20 crore. Srivas managed to evade the police for several hours before eventually being arrested in Chhattisgarh.

In the earlier case, Srivas accessed the store’s terrace from an adjacent building, breaking in just before midnight. He adeptly disabled the CCTV cameras and alarm systems, ensuring his activities went undetected. Srivas proceeded to the ground floor, where he meticulously broke into the strongroom and wiped it clean of valuables. His escape route was traced through CCTV footage at Kashmere Gate bus stand, where he purchased a ticket to Chhattisgarh. The police have determined that Srivas was part of a larger criminal group involved in the Delhi burglary.

Efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice and enhance security measures to prevent future incidents.
