Lucknow: Opposition leader in the UP legislative Council, senior leader of MLC and Samajwadi Party, Ahmad Hasan died after a prolonged illness, on Saturday. About 10 days ago Hasan was admitted to Lohia hospital in Lucknow. When his condition became critical he was shifted to the ICU of the Lohia Institute.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and senior politician condoled Hasan’s death.
A close associate of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, Hasan (88) was the health minister in Akhilesh cabinet.

Former minister, Ahmed Hasan, had a serious heart ailment. Two months ago he was admitted to Larry cardiology, there he was fitted with a pacemaker. After this he contracted coronavirus and after winning the battle with the deadly virus, he was admitted to a private hospital in Gomtinagar where his condition was stated to be critical.
He was immediately admitted to the Lohia Institute. Dr Deepak Malviya, chairman of the department of Anaesthesia said that the 88-year-old was admitted in a critical condition and the doctor tried their best to save his life but without success.
Having cleared his provincial police services (PPS), Hasan was promoted to IPS cadre before he retired from service and later joined Mulayam.
Not embroiled in any controversy in his political career, Hasan enjoyed a clean image and stood by Mulayam and Akhilesh all through his political innings.
