Manipur: Lok Sabha member Danish Ali, recently suspended by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), announces his decision to join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The move comes after Ali’s suspension for alleged anti-party activities and reflects his commitment to fighting against the exploitation of marginalized and poor sections.
Expressing the significance of his decision, Ali shares that he engaged in soul-searching and believes that joining Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is a crucial moment for him. He frames his choice as standing against the atmosphere of fear, hate, and exploitation in the country, emphasizing the need to address the issues faced by Dalits, backwards, tribals, minorities, and other marginalized groups.
Referring to the objectionable remarks made against him and his religion in Parliament, Ali underscores that his conscience led him to choose the path of launching a campaign against the prevailing atmosphere of fear, hate, and exploitation. He highlights the larger plan to create such an atmosphere in the country and asserts that his decision aligns with his commitment to fighting against the BJP.
Ali’s suspension by the BSP, amid reports of his growing proximity to Congress leaders, is mentioned, emphasizing the unwarranted nature of the action, according to Congress’s Uttar Pradesh chief Ajay Rai. Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Ali’s official residence to extend support after derogatory remarks by a BJP MP further underlines the political dynamics.
While expressing gratitude to BSP chief Mayawati for making him a Lok Sabha MP, Ali reiterates his commitment to fighting against the BJP and raising his voice against the exploitation of the country’s resources by select industrialists. Despite the suspension, Ali aims to strengthen the BSP and uphold his values.
Ajay Rai, Congress’s Uttar Pradesh chief, assures that the party will do everything to strengthen Ali and his ideals. The assurance reinforces the support for Ali within the Congress and highlights the ongoing political dynamics in Uttar Pradesh.
