Budaun: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Baba colony near the Mandi Samiti outpost in Budaun as a man, identified as Shajid, mercilessly attacked three brothers with an axe. The tragic outcome left two young lives, Ayush (12) and Ahaan alias Honey (8), lost, while their brother Yuvraj fought for survival with grievous wounds.
The situation escalated when the accused attempted to evade arrest and fired upon the police, leading to a fatal exchange of gunfire. Bareilly IG Rakesh Kumar confirmed, “The accused, aged between 25-30, was killed in the encounter as he tried to flee. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
According to reports, the accused, who recently set up a shop in the locality, launched the brutal assault on the unsuspecting brothers. Eyewitnesses shared that the accused, a former barber who worked near the victims’ residence, stormed into their house late in the evening. The grandmother of the boys recounted the horrifying ordeal, mentioning that the attack occurred suddenly, leaving Ayush and Ahaan fatally injured.
News of the gruesome attack spread rapidly, prompting family members and locals to voice their anger. Demonstrations and protests erupted, with some resorting to vandalism in their grief and outrage. The Senior Superintendent of Police swiftly responded by deploying additional security to maintain order in the area.
Budaun DM Manoj Kumar expressed, “We are still investigating the reason for this horrific attack. There were no apparent disputes or conflicts reported between the accused and the victims.
The bodies of the two deceased children have been sent for post mortem examination, while Yuvraj, the lone survivor, is receiving medical treatment at the district hospital. The authorities are determined to ensure that justice is served for this tragic loss of innocent lives in Baba colony.
