The driver of a bulldozer had a narrow escape when a bridge across the Ganga canal in the Muzaffarnagar region of Uttar Pradesh collapsed into the water.

Muzaffarnagar: The driver of a bulldozer had a narrow escape when a bridge across the Ganga canal in the Muzaffarnagar region of Uttar Pradesh collapsed into the water. The bulldozer fell into the canal’s water while demolishing an old, dilapidated bridge in the Jansath area.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the bulldozer positioned on the shaky and constrained bridge in Muzaffarnagar. As the JCB machine attempts to demolish the old bridge, it suddenly submerges into the canal, taking the bulldozer with it.

The driver ran away from it unharmed through the troubled waters, leaving the vehicle upside down in the canal.

The police and locals rescued him. Later, police took control of the situation and reached the spot. According to sources, the bridge that collapsed into the water was 100 years old. The demolition work had been in progress as part of a project to widen the Panipat-Khatima Highway along the canal.
