Secret Service spokesman Paul Mehere said in a statement that officers responded to a report of shots fired at 34th and Massachusetts Avenue, northwest Washington, DC, at around 1:30 p.m.
The road around the intersection has been temporarily closed due to the ongoing investigation, the statement said.
