A statement from Royal Canadian Mounted Police said,”It is believed that the adult male in custody and all five deceased individuals are known to each other.”
The incident occurred on Sunday morning around Carman, a small town in central Manitoba province where 2,800 people live. Police said that the body of a woman was found on the roadside first thing on Sunday morning.
Several hours later, a burning vehicle was found containing three children, who police said died at the scene. Police said in their statement that after some time the body of another woman was found in a house.
