NEET UG Paper Leak Case: First arrest from Patna, CBI detained two people

NEET UG Paper Leak Case: The CBI team made the first arrest in the NEET paper leak case from Patna city of Bihar on Thursday. CBI team has detained two people from Patna. The investigating agency has arrested Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar. In this case, the accused Baldev Kumar alias Chintu and Mukesh Kumar reached the CBI office in Patna, Bihar. After this, both of them have been sent on CBI remand by the special CBI court in Patna.

NEET UG Paper Leak Case: The CBI team made the first arrest in the NEET paper leak case from Patna city of Bihar on Thursday. CBI team has detained two people from Patna. The investigating agency has arrested Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar. In this case, the accused Baldev Kumar alias Chintu and Mukesh Kumar reached the CBI office in Patna, Bihar. After this, both of them have been sent on CBI remand by the special CBI court in Patna.

Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar allegedly provided secure premises to the candidates ahead of the exam, where they were given leaked papers and answer keys, officials said. CBI has registered six FIRs in the NEET paper leak case.

NEET-UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country. This year’s exam was conducted on May 5 at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 foreign cities.  More than 23 lakh candidates had appeared in this examination. The CBI’s first FIR was filed on Sunday, a day after the ministry announced that it would hand over the investigation into alleged irregularities in the conduct of the exam to the central agency.

Earlier, the CBI team had investigated at many places in Hazaribagh. The CBI team went to SBI Bank and investigated. During this, CCTV footage was scrutinized and officers and employees there were interrogated.
