CBI summoned 15 people to the CBI headquarters in Delhi in Delhi liquor case.
New Delhi: The 15 people named in the FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been summoned to the CBI headquarters in Delhi. According to the report by sources, some of them have been called for detailed interrogation. Among them, a few are close aides of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
During the investigation at the CBI office, their comments will be recorded throughout the probe. It is crucial because of the FIR, which mentions both public and private employees. According to the allegations, the people implicated reportedly took a bribe of Rs 1 crore to Rs 4 crore from liquor sellers who benefited from defaulting payments under the excise policy of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government.
Sisodia had been the prime suspect, so the investigating agency raided his home on August 19, following the excise policy scandal.
The summons was issued a day after the central investigation agency searched the homes of Sisodia and 21 other individuals whom the BJP claims allowed liquor stores to open “in every street.”
However, Sisodia made it clear that the allegations against him are baseless. It is a form of harassment on the part of the BJP.
“This CBI raid is a fabricated case.” AAP MP Sanjay Singh said on Friday that Manish Sisodia “will come clean.” Singh also said that under the BJP rule, there would be no stringent action against defaulters like Nirav Modi, Vyapam, or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board scam.
