CBN seizes truck carrying over 102 kg opium at  Jaipur-Agra Highway, nabbing 3

CBN personnel have confiscated 95 packets of opium weighing 102.910 kg at the Rajadhok toll plaza on the Jaipur-Agra Highway in Rajasthan's Jaipur.

Jaipur: A truck loaded with opium was seized by the officers of the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN). Overall, CBN personnel have confiscated 95 packets of opium weighing 102.910 kg at the Rajadhok toll plaza on the Jaipur-Agra Highway in Rajasthan’s Jaipur.

Officers got the tip that an Ashok Leyland truck that was carrying a large quantity of illicit opium was likely to pass from the northeast to Rajasthan on Tuesday. After receiving the information, the NCB team became alert and started searching vehicles on the suspected route.

Following the surveillance, the officers successfully intercepted the truck, and after a thorough search, it was revealed that the opium was hidden in the cavities inside the trawler, which was specially built for this purpose.

During the search operation of the truck, the drug traffickers tried to escape from the spot. They rammed the truck into the government vehicle that was escorting it. However, their escape attempt was spoiled by the security personnel.

The CBN officials arrived on the scene and searched the trawler, where 95 packets of opium weighing 102.910 kg were recovered. 

The vehicles, along with three guilty parties, were taken into custody under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
