CCTV footage shows Amritpal escaping in a Maruti SUV car crossing toll plaza in Punjab

In the case of Amritpal Singh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court reprimanded the Punjab Police. "You have 80,000 cops. What were they doing. How did Amritpal Singh escape?"

New Delhi: The police team is continuously conducting raids to nab Khalistani fundamentalist Amritpal Singh. Many of his associates have been arrested. Meanwhile, a CCTV footage has come to the fore. In which it is seen that Amritpal got down in his Mercedes car at Shahkot in Jalandhar and in Shahkot he got into the Breeza car of one of his associates. Amritpal changed clothes in the Breeza car itself. He took off his chola and ran away from there wearing pant shirt along with his three accomplices in two motorcycles.

The 30-year-old radical preacher is seen in CCTV footage from a toll booth in Jalandhar, at around 11.27 am on Saturday, the day the Punjab police launched its operation to arrest him. He is in the front seat of a Maruti Brezza.

Meanwhile, Sources has spoken to DCP Jalandhar Jaskaran Singh Teja and ACP Nirmal Singh on the whole matter. Jaskaran Singh Teja said that Punjab is completely calm. Amritpal has no support. Amritpal was accompanied by only a handful of people, who have been arrested. Amritpal used to provoke youths who came to him to get rid of drugs. Amritpal formed AKF (Anandpur khalsa force) which was illegal.

Significantly, in the case of Amritpal Singh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has reprimanded the Punjab Police. The HC asked, “80 thousand soldiers in Punjab Police, still how is Amritpal absconding? What were your 80000 policemen doing? How did he run away.” The court said that this is the intelligence failure of the Punjab Police.

During the hearing, the Punjab Police told the court that NSA has also been imposed on Amritpal Singh and it has so far arrested more than 120 associates of Amritpal. The court said that we do not believe the story of the police. The court has asked the Punjab Police to file a status report.
