Centre approves the delimitation final report on redrawing the wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi, elections soon

Now the State Election Commission of Delhi will issue a notification by marking and reserving seats for women and scheduled caste people, out of which 42 will be reserved for scheduled castes. Draft delimitation of 250 wards (42 reserved) was issued under Integrated MCD.

New Delhi: The smell of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections has intensified. The work of delimitation of 250 wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been completed. Now there will be a total of 250 wards in MCD, out of which 42 will be reserved for Scheduled Castes. For this, the central government has issued a notification. Now the dates for the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections can be announced soon.

Now the State Election Commission of Delhi will issue a notification by marking and reserving seats for women and scheduled caste people, out of which 42 will be reserved for scheduled castes. Draft delimitation of 250 wards (42 reserved) was issued under Integrated MCD.

The Central Government has fixed the maximum number of seats in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi at 250. Till now, the total number of seats in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, including all the three municipal corporations, was 272. Now there will be a total of 250 wards in the integrated Delhi Municipal Corporation. Of these, 42 wards will be reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). The central government had issued its notification two days ago.

In Delhi, before the creation of a total of 250 wards in the Integrated Municipal Corporation, there has been a decrease of 22 wards in the total number of wards of the three municipal corporations. Municipal elections will be held for the first time after the integration of the three municipal corporations of the city.
