Chandigarh: Chandigarh Police visited the residence of a Haryana minister, Sandeep Singh, on Wednesday, who was charged with sexual harassment.
A case of sexual assault has been filed against Sandeep Singh (former Indian hockey player) at Chandigarh’s Sector 26 Police Station.
A police squad that included the SHO of Sector 26 went to the residence of Haryana Minister Sandeep Singh.
The woman coach who accused Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh of sexual harassment asserted that the probe would be biassed until the minister resigned.
Speaking to the media following her appearance before the Chandigarh Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday, she said: “I heard the Chief Minister make a statement in which he expressed his support for Sandeep Singh.” “It would be a question of prejudice up until the minister steps down.”
She claimed that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was trying to influence the probe. Haryana police have been putting pressure on me.
The coach’s advocate, Dipanshu Bansal, said, “We will give the police 2 or 3 days’ time to arrest Sandeep Singh.” “We will get the statement of 164 recorded by Tuesday itself.”
Notably, the Khap panchayat issued a warning that an enormous protest will take place if the minister is not apprehended by January 7.
Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Daljeet Singh said, “We assure you that the victim deserves justice.” Khap has issued the timeline, which is until January 7.
If Sandip Singh, a former international hockey player and Haryana Sports Minister, is not dismissed or nabbed, then be ready for a huge protest.
