Chennai team beat Mumbai after 13 years in Chepauk, reached number two

Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by six wickets in their 11th match in IPL 2023. With this victory, the Chennai team has reached the second position in the points table with 13 points. At the same time, Mumbai’s team is in sixth place with five wins and five losses in 10 matches. Batting first in this match, Mumbai scored 139 runs losing eight wickets. In response, Chennai scored 140 runs in 17.4 overs losing four wickets and won the match by six wickets with 14 balls to spare.

Nehal Wadhera scored 64 runs for Mumbai in this match. At the same time, Devon Conway scored 44 and Rituraj scored 30 runs for Chennai. Chennai’s Mathisha Pathirana did wonders with the ball and took three wickets. At the same time, Tushar Deshpande and Deepak Chahar got two wickets each. Piyush Chawla took two wickets for Mumbai. Tristan Stubbs and Akash Madhwal took one wicket each. With this victory, Dhoni is once again overshadowed by Rohit. This season, both the matches between these two teams have been won by Chennai.

This season once again Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians. In this match, Chennai defeated Mumbai by 6 wickets. Shivam Dubey played an inning of 26 runs off 18 balls. At the same time, Dhoni scored 2 not out.

Matheesha Pathirana,Player of the Match: My journey with CSK started from last year, I came in as a replacement and played only two games, but this season I am playing more and I am happy. They (team management) give me a lot of confidence. This is my best bowling figures in T20 cricket and I am happy with the performance. I am a die hard fan of Cristiano Ronaldo (referring to his celebrations after picking a wicket).

MS Dhoni , CSK captain: It was a very crucial game for a simple reason, if you see the points table there’s a muddle in the middle. Last few games the results have not gone in our favour and so it is good to be on the winning side.

Rohit Sharma, MI captain: Everywhere I guess (on what went wrong), we didn’t bat well enough, didn’t put enough runs for the bowlers to defend. We had an off-day as a batting unit. We just did what we felt was comfortable (on him going down to 3), needed an Indian batter to bat in the middle overs against spin after unfortunately losing Tilak Varma, but we lost three wickets for just 16 runs.
