Dantewada: A Naxal attack on a vehicle carrying District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans near Aranpur in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada on Wednesday killed ten jawans and a driver. Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhaghel strongly condemned this major Naxalite attack and called it a cowardly act. Bhupesh Baghel said that the sacrifice of soldiers will not go in vain.
The Chief Minister’s Office issued a statement on the attack, saying that he (the Chief Minister) paid tribute to the martyrs and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. He strongly condemned this cowardly act of Maoists and said that the sacrifice of our soldiers will not go in vain.

Speaking to media, the Chief Minister said that he expressed his condolences to the families of the jawans who were martyred. This battle is going on in the final round and the Naxalites will not be spared at any cost. We will eliminate Naxalism in a planned manner.
According to the information, Dantewada is a Naxal affected district of Chhattisgarh. Police officials said that Naxalites have detonated a landmine in Aranpur police station area of the district. A DRG force was dispatched from Dantewada on an anti-Naxal operation on information about the presence of Maoist cadres in the Aranpur police station area.
Police officials said that during the retreat after the operation, the Maoists detonated a landmine on Aranpur Marg. In this incident, 10 DRG personnel involved in the operation were martyred and one driver died. He said that after receiving information about the incident, additional force has been dispatched to the spot.
