Chhattisgarh: 3 CRPF personnel killed, 14 injured in Naxal attack in Bijapur district

Chhattisgarh: On Tuesday, official sources said that three CRPF personnel were killed during a gun battle with the Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. 14 others injured in this incident, according to the information.

Chhattisgarh: On Tuesday, official sources said that three CRPF personnel were killed during a gun battle with the Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. 14 others injured in this incident, according to the information.

Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said that the incident happened near the Tekalgudem village when a joint team of security personnel was out on a search operation.

Officials added that the village is located along the border of Bijapur and Sukma districts. The injured are now out of danger and are undergoing treatment in Raipur.

The clash took place at around 1 pm, as a team from the 201 battalion of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and the 150 battalion of CRPF aimed to establish a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in the region.

FOB is a remote camp intended to facilitate security forces operating in core Naxalite areas. Sources said three CRPF personnel were killed and around 14 were injured during the operation.

The Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) of the CRPF is a jungle warfare unit. Sources said that commandos have launched effective response and helicopters are being sought to evacuate the injured.
