New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out searches at the premises of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's Political Advisor Vinod Verma. This move of ED is being considered as a major setback for CM Bhupesh Baghel before the Chhattisgarh assembly elections to be held at the end of the year.
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out searches at the premises of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s Political Advisor Vinod Verma. This move of ED is being considered as a major setback for CM Bhupesh Baghel before the Chhattisgarh assembly elections to be held at the end of the year.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel targeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the raids on the bases of his OSD. CM wrote on X (Twitter), “Respected Prime Minister and Mr. Amit Shah! Today on my birthday, many thanks for the priceless gift you have given by sending ED to my political advisor and my OSD and close ones.”
Officials said that ED officials raided Vinod Verma’s residence in Raipur and Chief Minister’s OSD’s residence in Bhilai early today. Along with this, the ED has also raided the businessmen close to the Chief Minister.
He told that it has not yet been confirmed under which case the ED has conducted the raid. The ED is probing various cases related to alleged coal scam, liquor scam, irregularities in DMF and an online betting scam in Chhattisgarh.
ED’s action is going on continuously in Chhattisgarh. Over the past few years, the ED has carried out raids on various people, senior officials and businessmen in connection with its probe into the alleged coal levy scam and liquor scam in the state. ED has also arrested some Indian Administrative Service officers, businessmen in these cases.
