Chhattisgarh: Encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Sukma, 3 jawans of DRG martyred and 2 serious

New Delhi: Three policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were martyred in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday morning. Police officials gave this information.

New Delhi: Three policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were martyred in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday morning. Police officials gave this information.

DRG assistant sub-inspector Ramuram Nag, assistant constable Kunjram Joga and constable Vanjam Bhima were martyred in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Jagargunda and Kunded villages of Sukma district, police officials said.

According to sources, an encounter is going on between Naxalites and DRG jawans near Kunded in Sukma district. In this encounter, three jawans were martyred and two jawans are said to be injured.

Officials said that a team of DRG was sent for patrolling from Jagargunda police station on Saturday morning. Naxalites attacked the police party when the party was between Jagargunda and Kunded village at 9 am. Three policemen including an assistant sub-inspector were martyred in this attack.

Police officials said that security forces also retaliated after firing by Naxalites. He said that more information is being gathered in this regard. The campaign against Naxalites in the area is going on.
