Chhattisgarh: four killed including two girls in lightning strike

Kondagaon: Two girls were burnt due to lightning in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh. Both the girls were taken to hospital for treatment, where both died during treatment. The police gave this information on Sunday.

Kondagaon: Two girls were burnt due to lightning in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh. Both the girls were taken to hospital for treatment, where both died during treatment. The police gave this information on Sunday.

A police officer said that the incident took place in Chilputi village of Kondagaon police station area on Saturday. It is being told that the two had gone to collect tamarind during the incident. Both the deceased have been identified as Radha Markam and Monika Nag. Both of them were 10 years old.

On Saturday evening both went together to collect tamarind. During that time, it suddenly started raining heavily and the lightning started to crackle. Before both the girls could go home, lightning struck and both of them were badly burned.

The police officer said that after getting information about the incident, his relatives and villagers called an ambulance and took him to the district hospital. During the treatment there, the doctors declared both the girls dead.

The dead bodies have been handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. Police has registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in this case.

On Saturday, two farmers who went to work in the field were sitting under a tree near a Palpar Hardi to protect themselves from the rain. Meanwhile, lightning fell on the tree and they got hit by it. Due to this both of them died on the spot.

The incident was reported to the police, after which the bodies were admitted to the hospital for post-mortem. After this, the dead bodies were handed over to their relatives.
