In a tragic incident in Sukma district, Naxals brutally killed two villagers, Sodhi Hunga and Madvi Nanda, from Kaher Dulhed village, suspecting them to be police informers. The area has been cordoned off by police teams, responding to the distressing situation.

Their actions, driven by a reluctance to let development and welfare schemes benefit the local populace, raise concerns over the safety of the community.
To counter Naxal influence, Chhattisgarh police, in collaboration with CRPF forces, established a camp in Sukma district’s Puvarti village, a stronghold of the notorious Naxalite leader Hidma. Hidma is known for masterminding lethal attacks on security forces in the Bastar region.
The strategic move of setting up 14 new security camps, including seven in Sukma, since November of the previous year, has curtailed Naxalite movements, eliciting their discontent. These remote camps not only enhance security but also empower villagers to avail themselves of government development initiatives, contributing to the eradication of the Naxal menace.
Situated at the tri-junction of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, Sukma district has long been under Maoist influence. The insurgents maintain control through a network of ‘Janatana Sarkar’ units and formidable guerrilla fighter battalions, posing a persistent challenge to the region’s peace and stability.
