Chhattisgarh,Raipur: Chhattisgarh Police have successfully intercepted and seized a massive consignment of drugs weighing 364 kilograms. This operation marks a major victory in the ongoing battle against narcotics and illegal substances in the region. The operation, conducted late last night, resulted in the interception of the suspicious ambulance by a vigilant police team.
The interception took place at the limits of Amanaka police station, where the police team, acting on suspicion, thoroughly checked the ambulance. The subsequent search revealed an astonishing quantity of cannabis, with Azad Chowk City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mayank Gurjar confirming the seizure.
CSP Mayank Gurjar provided details on the magnitude of the drug bust, indicating that the confiscated cannabis weighed over 364 kilograms. The estimated street value of the seized contraband is reported to be around ₹36 lakh, underscoring the scale of the illicit operation.
The individual arrested in connection with the drug peddling operation has been identified as Suraj Khute, a 22-year-old resident of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district. The CSP shared that Khute was apprehended during the interception and is now in custody, facing charges related to drug trafficking.
During the initial stages of the investigation, the arrested accused, Suraj Khute, disclosed crucial information. He revealed that he had procured the seized contraband from Odisha and transported it to Baloda Bazaar.
