Chhattisgarh Rape horror: Elderly man, 76, booked for raping 13-year-old by luring her with Rs 10

Raipur/Chhattisgarh: In yet another horrific incident that came to fore in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar district where a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped multiple times by two men, one of whom was a 76-year-old who recently lured her of Rs 10 for committing the crime. The police gave this information on Tuesday. According to preliminary investigation, a few days before the incident came to light on Saturday, a woman raped the girl after alerting her parents.

City’s Kotwali police station in-charge Yadumani Sidar said that the police have arrested Kunjram Verma (76) and Ramesh Verma (47) for raping the girl.

Sidar said that on Saturday, when a neighbor woman of Kunjram Verma saw the girl leaving the house of both the accused, she informed the girl’s family members. Later, on the complaint of the family, the police registered a case. The family members of the girl do the work of collecting garbage.

The police officer said that the victim and Kunjram live in the same area. Kunjram used to invite the girl to his house by luring him to give 10 rupees and used to rape her.

He told that when Ramesh, an acquaintance of Kunjram, came to know about this, he too got involved in this crime and started sexually abusing the girl.

The police officer said that the girl was taken to the hospital after she complained of stomach ache. Doctors said that his condition is stable.

The accused were booked on the charges of gang rape and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the SHO said, adding that further investigation is underway.
