The condition of a child with a heart ailment, who was attended to by a group of doctors on board a New Delhi-bound Vistara flight, has deteriorated, and the child is currently in a critical state on a ventilator and receiving life-saving medications at a Nagpur hospital.
A child who had been rescued by a team of doctors while onboard a Vistara flight bound for New Delhi is currently facing a critical medical situation. The incident occurred on Flight No. UK814 of Vistara Airlines during its journey from Bangalore to Delhi on the night of August 27. The child, who was already known to have a heart condition, required immediate medical attention while in mid-air.
Promptly responding to the emergency, fellow passengers who were medical professionals took immediate action by administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the infant passenger. However, despite the swift and coordinated efforts of these individuals, the child’s condition worsened, necessitating a more intensive level of care.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the airline team swiftly collaborated with authorities at the Nagpur airport, facilitating an emergency landing in Nagpur. This was a critical move to ensure that the child could receive advanced medical attention as soon as possible. The efficient coordination between the airline team and airport authorities played a crucial role in ensuring a safe and timely landing.
Upon landing, the child was transferred to KIMS KINGSWAY Hospital in Nagpur via an ambulance provided by the hospital. The hospital’s medical team, including a Senior Consultant in Paediatrics and Neonatology, immediately took charge of the child’s care.
Currently, the child’s condition remains extremely critical. The child is under close monitoring and care, being kept on a ventilator to assist with breathing and receiving various life-saving medications. The medical team is working diligently to stabilize the child’s condition and provide the necessary medical interventions.
In addition to medical care, the hospital is also offering support to the child’s parents and relatives. Regular updates on the child’s condition are being provided to them, and they are receiving counseling to help them cope with the challenging situation.
