In videos shared on social media, both the leaders were seen waving to huge crowds as songs were played out remembering freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Mann, the AAP’s CM pick, will take oath on Wednesday at Khatkar Kalan, Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village.

AAP supporters and workers came out in large numbers with the tricolour and party flags.

In a tweet, Kejriwal, who earlier in the day got a warm welcome from Mann, wrote in Hindi: “After a revolutionary change, huge congratulations to three crore people of Punjab. A roadshow to express gratitude in Guru’s town.” Shortly before the roadshow, both the leaders visited the iconic Golden Temple and the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial and offered tributes. “We want to thank the people of Punjab. They have given us a huge responsibility,” the 48-year-old CM pick told reporters on Sunday morning.

Aam Aadmi Party registered a massive victory in the Punjab polls with 92 seats. Congress won 18 seats in the 117-member Assembly while BJP won two and Shiromani Akali Dali three seats.

Mr Mann said that the new government in Punjab will strive to take governance to the doorsteps of people so that they do not have to rush to the state capital for solutions.

“We will make efforts to provide all facilities to the people from the comfort of their homes. We went to seek votes door-to-door, even in the fields of the farmers. But after we win, we tell them to visit Chandigarh to get their work done. I want the least number of people to visit Chandigarh to get their work done,” he said.

AAP’s winning candidates are also attending the victory roadshow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet on Thursday assured the centre’s support to the AAP government. To which, Kejriwal, the next day, replied with a ‘thank you’.
