The Rajasthan government has started the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme to distribute free smartphones to 1.3 crore women, in the first phase of which smartphones will be distributed to 40 lakh women.
Rajasthan Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched the Indira Gandhi Smart Phone Scheme on Thursday. Under this scheme, smart phones will be given free of cost to the women of the state. However, CM Gehlot had announced this scheme only last year. But it was launched yesterday. In which 1.30 crore women will be given free smartphones. Along with this, they will also get the facility of free data and free calling to use the phone. In the first phase of this scheme, 40 lakh women will be given smartphones. More than 400 mobile distribution camps have been inaugurated in Rajasthan to distribute free smartphones to women.
In such a situation, the opposition parties are calling this scheme as vote bank politics. However, the Gehlat government says that this scheme will empower women. Smartphone will lead to women empowerment. We are walking with the vision of 2030. No one knows who will be the Chief Minister at that time, but the process should be made.

Will get free calling and free data
Under the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme, the Rajasthan government has started an initiative to provide free smart phones to the women heads of Chiranjeevi families. Under this scheme, a total of 1.3 crore women are to be given smartphones for free. In which they will also get free data and calling for three years. Every woman will get 5 GB free data every month. This scheme is going to start from 10th August till 30th August.
Who will get the benefit of the scheme
Girls studying in 9th to 12th
Girl students studying in government higher education
Widows and Single Women with Rajasthan Government Pension
Women who have worked for 100 days under MGNREGA
Women who have worked for 50 days under the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme.
