The sizzling victory by the AAP in the assembly elections in Punjab this month has boosted the morale of party leaders and workers. The Delhi model is being applied in Punjab as well. AAP knows that Kerjriwal’s way of governance has been applauded by almost all sections of the population.
Punjab is not behind in applying the Delhi model in the state. After Delhi, the AAP-led Punjab government will start doorstep delivery of rations for the beneficiaries, announced chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday. “Our officer will call you to ask for the timing of the same and will deliver it at that time. Mann said.
Kejriwal announced a doorstep ration during election
Before the assembly polls, the party’s national convenor and Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, had announced that his government would implement doorstep delivery services, a system that the AAP government first introduced in Delhi.
On the move, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has announced doorstep delivery of rations.” It’ll be implemented soon. We’ve been struggling to implement it in Delhi for the last 4 years. We planned out everything, but the Centre’s BJP government stopped it. “
Bhagwant Mann took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab earlier this month after the AAP swept the recently concluded Assembly election in the state.
35,000 contract workers to be permanent employees
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made it clear that nearly 35,000 Punjab government workers on contracts will now be made permanent employees of the state. He announced it within days of taking over the reins of the state after a mammoth election scoop. The CM further said that Group C and Group D workers on contracts will be made permanent.
In most government departments, workers in Group C posts mainly perform clerical work in ministries and departments, while those in Group D posts are recruited for maintenance and labour work.
CM urges to prepare a draft
The chief minister has instructed Punjab’s chief secretary to prepare a draft on the matter before the Assembly meets for the next session.
Last week, the Punjab Cabinet, in its first meeting after coming to power, accepted 25,000 government jobs in state departments, boards, and corporations for the people of Punjab, of which 10,000 will be created in the police department and the rest in other departments. The job vacancies will be notified within a month, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said.
The Punjab cabinet has approved notification of 25,000 job vacancies within one month. As we promised before the election, job opportunities for our Punjab’s youth will be the topmost priority of the AAP government,” Bhagwant Mann tweeted. “
In its election campaign, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) promised to regularise the employment of contractual workers in government departments.
In an unprecedented sweep, the party won 92 of the 117 Assembly seats, decimating political giants across the state.
The step taken by the Punjab government is a good social welfare scheme. The poor will get rations to live their lives without running here and there for food. People are enticed by such schemes. If Mann continues to work like Kejriwal, then it is expected that he and AAP will play a long innings in the state.
