The construction work of the new Integrated Secretariat Complex is being done at a rapid pace with the goal of getting ready by Dussehra.
125 feet statue of BR Ambedkar will be ready for inauguration by December. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that it was a matter of pride for the people of Telangana to name the Secretariat after the social activist and philosopher Dr. Ambedkar. “Dr. Ambedkar dreamed of unity in diversity and equality for all. The Telangana government is inspired by his philosophy of ensuring equal rights for all sections in all spheres,” he said.
The Chief Minister also said that he would personally write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to name the new Indian Parliament House after Dr. Ambedkar and informed that the State Legislative Assembly has already started a letter requesting the Central Government on the subject. The motion has been passed. Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for accepting the CLP’s suggestion to pass a resolution urging the Union government to name the new Parliament building after Ambedkar. AIMIM MLA Ahmed Balala supported the resolution.
