CM Kejriwal led Delhi government extends ‘Old Excise policy’ for six months

New Delhi: The Kejriwal government, surrounded by Delhi's liquor policy deficit, has now extended the old excise policy for six months. The government has extended the old excise policy for six months due to non-formulation of a new policy.

New Delhi: The Kejriwal government, surrounded by Delhi’s liquor policy deficit, has now extended the old excise policy for six months. The government has extended the old excise policy for six months due to non-formulation of a new policy.

Delhi government officials have been instructed to prepare a new policy soon. It has also been reported that there will be 5 dry days in 6 months. Liquor shops will not open in Delhi on Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Buddha Purnima, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Juha.

The Delhi government had withdrawn the new excise policy and had implemented the old excise policy till a new excise policy was prepared. A new excise policy has not been prepared by the authorities, after which the old excise policy has been extended for the time being for 6 months. The Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been arrested on the charge of scam related to Delhi’s liquor policy of 2023. Apart from this, a total of 9 accused have been arrested in this case.

Apart from CBI team, ED is also investigating the case. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Raghav Magunta, Sarath Reddy and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter are involved in the scam. Currently, the entire case is being investigated. At the same time, there is also a debate on the issue.
