Lucknow: In a recent meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid out directives to ensure that the upcoming Chhath Mahaparv becomes a benchmark for cleanliness and safety. Emphasizing the need for special initiatives by the urban development and panchayati raj departments, CM Yogi called for a clean environment throughout the state during the festival’s celebrations and rituals.
He stressed the importance of respecting sentiments by preventing pollution of rivers and reservoirs, urging the conduct of public awareness campaigns against single-use plastics. As devotees gather in the early hours to offer ‘Arghya’ to the rising sun, CM Yogi highlighted the necessity for proper lighting arrangements, cleanliness of ghat areas along rivers, and effective traffic management.
