Jhansi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday announced its decision to change the name of Jhansi railway station which will now be known a ‘Veerangana Lakshmibai Railway Station’,
उत्तर प्रदेश का ‘झाँसी रेलवे स्टेशन’ अब ‘वीरांगना लक्ष्मीबाई रेलवे स्टेशन’ के नाम से जाना जाएगा।

Rani Laxmibai was one of the most famous leaders of rebellion during British time. She was killed in battle with British forces in Gwalior on June 18, 1858.
Known for his name change politics, BJP-led UP government had earlier this year proposed to rename the Jhansi railway station and call it ‘Veerangana Lakshmibai Railway Station’. Following which the state government had sent a proposal to the Union Home Ministry.
Also, the state government has renamed Allahabad as Prayagraj, Faizabad as Ayodhya and the Mughalsarai Railway Station as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Railway Station among many others.
