CNG, PNG prices hiked by Rs 3 in Delhi-NCR from today: Check latest rates

New Delhi: In the era of inflation, the government has given another blow to the public. The government has increased the prices of Compressed natural gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) by at least Rs 3 in Delhi-NCR from today (Saturday). These increased prices will be applicable from 6 am today i.e. on October 8.

New Delhi: In the era of inflation, the government has given another blow to the public. The government has increased the prices of Compressed natural gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) by at least Rs 3 in Delhi-NCR from today (Saturday). These increased prices will be applicable from 6 am today i.e. on October 8. The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the CNG prices in Delhi from Rs 75.61 to Rs 78.61. In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the prices have been increased from Rs 78.17 to Rs 81.17.

Apart from Delhi-NCR, this decision will also affect Karnal, Muzaffarnagar and Kanpur. Due to this, people will now have to pay more money to get CNAG filled in the vehicle. The price of CNG has gone up to Rs 86.94 in Gurugram, Rs 89.07 in Rewari, Rs 87.27 in Karnal, Rs 85.84 in Muzaffarnagar and Rs 89.81 in Kanpur. Cab service providers, such as Ola and Uber are also going to charge more. Those who travel by auto every day will also have to bear the brunt. As the cost of transport will increase, there will be a jump in the price of fruits and vegetables.

The PNG prices in Delhi have gone up to 53.59 per standard cubic meter (SCM). In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the prices have climbed to 53.46, in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Meerut the prices have reached 56.97 per standard cubic meter. The rates are at Rs 59.23 in Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradeshs Kanpur, Fatehpur and Hamirpur these prices have been reduced to 56.10.

This is a record increase in the prices of natural gas. The government has increased gas prices by 40 percent from October 1. The Petroleum Price and Analysis Cell under the Petroleum Ministry had on September 30 announced a massive 40 per cent hike in the prices of domestically produced gas for the next six months from October 1. Earlier on April 1, gas prices were increased by 110 percent citing international prices.

Last week, The government increased the rate paid for gas produced from old gas fields to Rs 8.57 per unit from the current Rs 6.1 per million British thermal unit (mmBtu). Apart from this, the price of gas extracted from difficult sectors has increased from Rs 9.92 to Rs12.6 per British thermal unit. So, there were indications that there would be a big jump in the price of CNG and PNG.

Three days ago, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) also increased the price of CNG by Rs 6 per kg. Because of that, CNG prices have increased in Mumbai and surrounding areas.
