Bengaluru: Communal clashes are common, especially at any festival where a procession is being carried out. Anti-social elements always try to disturb peace in society. The same kind of disturbance occurred in Karnataka’s Hulihyder village in Koppal district, where at least two people died and several were injured.
The clash broke out between the two communities, Hindus and Muslims. The situation is tense but under control. Security has been beefed up. Extra police personnel have been deployed to stop any untoward incident.
The local administration has imposed Section 144 in the area as a precautionary measure.
As per the initial report, a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl had an affair. On the occasion of Muharram, the boy went to meet his fiance. Their meeting took an ugly turn, and a brawl broke out between them.
After that, people of both communities started blaming each other and the clash started in which two people lost their lives and casualties are likely to go up. The police responded immediately, and the situation is now under control.
