Congress alleges “security breach” during Bharat Jodo Yatra, writes letter to Home Ministry

Congress said that Rahul Gandhi has Z category security. It becomes necessary to warn the Government of India that we are going to more sensitive areas. This penance will be fulfilled.

New Delhi: on Wednesday, 28 December, Congress wrote to the Centre seeking proper protection for Rahul Gandhi. The letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah mentioned there had been multiple breaches in the security of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Regarding this, Congress leader KC Venugopal has written a letter to the Home Minister and has demanded to increase the security of Rahul Gandhi.

Congress today released some videos by holding a press conference. Congress says BJP is trying to sabotage the yatra KC Venugopal said that despite Rahul Gandhi getting Z category security, such lapses are worrisome. He said that it is necessary to warn the Government of India because we are going to more sensitive areas.

“The situation was so severe that Congress workers and the Bharat Yatris walking along with Rahul Gandhi had to form a perimeter,” the letter mentioned. Last week, when the march entered Delhi, the Congress scion was joined by his mother Sonia Gandhi and sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

“I request you to take immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of Rahul Gandhi, a Z+ protectee,” the Congress general secretary wrote to Amit Shah.

Two of the party’s prime ministers – Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi – sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the country, the letter mentioned.
