The Congress lashed out at Tejasvi Surya, a member of parliament of Bengaluru South, for eating a masala dosa while the city was under water.
When several areas of the city were experiencing severe rain and flooding, Tejasvi Surya was criticised by a section of social media users for enjoying dosa and advertising a restaurant in his constituency at a time when people were struggling to survive in Bengaluru. The Congress party targeted him for eating dosa without caring for others’ emotions and labelled him “irresponsible” when the city drowned.
Congress spokesperson Lavanya Ballal shared a video in which the BJP MP was seen eating masala dosa. Lavanya Ballal claimed that the video was shot on September 5, when most parts of the city were drowning in floods.
In a 40-second video, the National President of BJP Yuva Morcha was spotted eating “Butter Masala Dosa” and “Uppittu” (Upma) at a restaurant in Padmanabhanagar, after which he lavished praise on its quality and taste. Besides this, he also urged people and advised them to come and taste the food. After enjoying dosa, the BJP MP did the advertisement for the eatery as well.
He can be purportedly heard saying, “After watching one of the Instagram reels, I am here in Padmanabhanagar to try out this ‘Benna Masala Dosa’.
