A meeting was called on Tuesday at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjuna to finalize the name of the CM. Shivakumar, who reached Delhi from Bengaluru on Tuesday afternoon, met Kharge at his residence. According to sources, Shivakumar, citing his contributions to the party from leading the organization in the Karnataka elections, clearly said that he is a natural claimant to the post of Chief Minister. Significantly, Congress has registered a bumper victory in Karnataka. Congress has formed the government by winning 135 seats in 224 assembly seats. The ruling BJP was reduced to only 66 seats. At the same time, JDS’s hopes of becoming the kingmaker have also suffered a setback. JDS got only 19 seats in this election. Others got four seats.
