The Congress Party has been trying to regain power in Himachal Pradesh to salvage some pride. Regarding this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, will begin her campaigning in Himachal Pradesh for the state assembly elections.

On October 14, she will address a crowd at the Parivartan Pratigya Maha event in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, to launch the party’s election campaign. This is the first time that she will be addressing a public meeting in the state.

The location and date of the public meeting were advertised on the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee’s (HPCC) official Twitter account. It further stated that Priyanka Gandhi’s rally will formally usher in the party’s election campaign in the state.

The Congress will contest in the upcoming assembly election for the first time without former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who died last year. His wife and MP, Pratibha Singh, who is HPCC President, has been playing a key role in the preparations for the Solan rally.

Priyanka Gandhi has already been camping in Himachal Pradesh at her residence in Chharabra, Shimla, since October 4. Congress President Sonia Gandhi was also accompanying her. As per the sources, Sonia Gandhi is in Shimla on a personal visit.

Meanwhile, the Congress Election Committee (CEC), which is set to meet on October 14 in Delhi to finalise the names of 45 candidates for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh assembly elections In fact, eight seats are crucial, including those in Shimla and Dharamshala, where a huge political fight is likely to take place.
