New Delhi: In India, the period of ups and downs in the cases of ‘Corona infection’ continues. In the last 24 hours, 12,608 new cases of corona have been reported. After which the total number of infected people in the country has increased to 4,42,98,864. The number of active cases has become to 1,01,343. 72 people died due to this infection in last 24 hours. The death tally reached at 5,27,206.
Talking about those recovering after defeating the corona virus infection, 16,251 patients were cured across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of patients who have recovered after defeating the epidemic has gone up to 4,36,70,15. The recovery rate of the country is 98.58 percent. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.48 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.20 per cent, the ministry said.
Talking about the vaccination campaign, total 208.95 crore so far of vaccine have been administered in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, 38,64,471 doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The vaccine is being administered to children and adults above 12 years of age in the country.
Talking about the corona test, According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 88.14 samples have been tested up to August 14 for COVID-19. Of these 3,62,020 samples were tested on Wednesday. The national capital recorded eight more Covid-related fatalities and 1,652 new cases on Wednesday even as the positivity rate came down below 10 per cent after more than a fortnight, according to data shared by the city health department. The positivity rate in Delhi declined to 9.92 per cent on Wednesday, almost a 10 per cent decline from the previous day. The positivity rate on Wednesday was the lowest since July 31, when Delhi had logged 1,263 fresh COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 9.35 per cent.
Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded 1,800 fresh coronavirus cases, more than half of them from Mumbai and a steep jump from 836 a day ago, while six more patients succumbed to the infection in the state, the health department said. With these fresh additions, the overall COVID-19 tally rose to 80,76,165, while the death toll increased to 1,48,180, said the department in a bulletin.
