Coronavirus: India sees 16,935 fresh cases, 16,069 recoveries in the last 24 hours, active cases cross 1.44 lakh

New Delhi: On Monday, India reported 16,935 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry,The total active cases of COVID-19 in India have risen to 1,44,264.

With 51 deaths due to this infection in last 24 hours. According to the report, The total death toll in the country is now at 5,25,760. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.48 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.58 per cent.

According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, the country saw a total of 16,069 discharges in the last 24 hours. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 4,30,97,510, while the case fatality rate has been recorded at 1.20 per cent.

According to reports, at least 90 percent of the country’s population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.An increase of 815 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The ministry also informed that the active cases comprise 0.33 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.47 per cent.

On Monday at 8 am, the cumulative doses administered under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 200 crore. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 86,94,25,632 samples have been tested up to July 16 for COVID-19. Of these 3,92,569 samples were tested on Saturday.
