New Delhi: On Sunday, India reports 18,257 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, taking to the total tally India reached 4,36,22,651, according to the Union Health Ministry. The active cases in the country stands at 1,28,690 on Sunday.
With 42 fatalities were also reported due to the infection in last 24 hours as the death toll climbed to 5,25,428. According to the Union Health Ministry, In the last 24 hours, 14,553 recoveries have been made that increases total recoveries to 4,29,68,533, with the recovery standing at 98.50 percent, as per the latest health bulletin.
According to the data, India’s active caseload currently stands at 1.28 lakh – accounting for 0.30 percent of the total cases. The daily positivity rate at 4.22 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.08 per cent. A total of 86.66 crore tests have been conducted so far; 4,32,777 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. On Saturday, National Capital Delhi recorded 544 fresh COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 3.37 per cent, as two more people succumbed to the virus, according to health department data.
On Saturday, Maharashtra recorded 2,760 new coronavirus cases and five pandemic-related deaths, the state health department said. According to the ministry, 198.65 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far. Over 3.74 crore first doses and over 2.51 crore second doses have been administered for the age group of 12 to 14. Over 6.06 crore first doses and more than 4.95 crore second doses have been given to the 15 to 18 age group, as per the government data.
