Coronavirus: India sees 18,313 fresh cases, 20,742 recoveries in the last 24 hours; active cases cross 1.45 lakh

New Delhi: On Wednesday, India reported 18,313 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours. The total active cases reached to 1,45,026, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated. The total tally of this infection reached at 4,39,38,764.

With 57 new deaths reported due to this infection in last 24 hours. The total death tally climbed to 5,26,167, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated. In last 24-hour period, the active Covid caseload declined by 2,486 cases. The ministry said active cases account for 0.34 per cent of the total caseload.

The country witnessed a total of 20,742 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the overall recovery rate to around 98.47 per cent and the total recovery data to 4,32,67,571. According to the data, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.31 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 4.57 percent.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 87.32 samples have been tested up to July 25 for COVID-19. Of these 4,26,102 samples were tested in last 24 hours. According to the ministry, 202.79 crore vaccine doses have been given so far under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
