New Delhi: In India, the period of ups and downs in the cases of ‘Corona infection’ continues. In the last 24 hours, 18,738 new cases of corona have been reported. After which the total number of infected people in the country has increased to 4,41,145,732. The number of active cases has become to 1,34,933. At the same time, after the death of 40 more people due to infection, the death toll increased to 5,26,689.
Talking about those recovering after defeating the corona virus infection, 18,558 patients were cured across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of patients who have recovered after defeating the epidemic has gone up to 4,34,84,110. The recovery rate of the country is 98.50 percent. The daily positivity rate stood at 5.02 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.63 per cent, the ministry said.
Talking about the corona test, in the last 24 hours, over 3,72,910 tests have been done across the country. So far, about 87.71 crore corona tests have been done in the country. Talking about the vaccination campaign, more than 206.21 crore so far of vaccine have been administered in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, 29,58,617 doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The vaccine is being administered to children and adults above 12 years of age in the country.
The most affected states are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where new cases are also coming the most. On Friday, The health ministry also informed that India has now administered over 100 million precaution doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, “This has been achieved by collective efforts. India has administered over 10 crore (100 million) precautionary doses. 10 crore people now have an extra layer of safety. Under PM Narendra Modi ji’s leadership, ‘Covid vaccination Amrit Mahotsav’ is going on in full swing to provide free precaution dose for all adults.”
The central government is also concerned about the increasing cases of covid-19 infection in the country. The Center had written a letter to 6 states and one union territory expressing concern over the increasing infection. The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Saturday wrote separate letters to the Principal Secretaries and Health Secretaries of Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Secretary in the ministry, Rajesh Bhushan. In this letter, the states have been instructed to take extra vigil in view of the upcoming festive season. Apart from this, special emphasis has also been given to vaccination.
