New Delhi: On Saturday, India reported 20,044 fresh cases in last 24 hours, taking to the total tally reached 4,37,30,071, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday. The active cases stand at 1,40,760.
With 56 deaths reported due to coronavirus infections in last 24 hours. The death toll due to the disease has climbed to 5,25,660. An increase of 1,687 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The ministry also informed that the active cases comprise 0.32 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.48 per cent.
According to the report, The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.80 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 4.40 per cent, according to the ministry. The country also witnessed 18,301 recoveries in a span of 24 hours, taking the number of people who have recuperated from the disease to 4,30,63,651.
The cumulative doses administered under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 199.71 crore on Saturday at 8 am. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 86,90,33,063 samples have been tested up to July 15 for COVID-19. Of these 4,17,895 samples were tested on Friday.
