Coronavirus: India sees 20,557 fresh cases in last 24 hours; decline in active cases

New Delhi: On Wednesday, India reported 20,557 new covid-19 cases in last 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated, the active cases dipped to 1,43,091. Taking to the total tally infection reached at 4,38,03,619.

With 40 deaths reported due to this infection in last 24 hours.According to the report The death toll climbed to 5,28,388.The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.13% and the weekly positivity rate at 4.64%, according to the ministry. Talking about those recovering after defeating the corona virus infection, in the last 24 hours, 18,517 patients were cured across the country.

With this, the total number of patients who have recovered after defeating the epidemic has gone up to 4,31,13,623. The recovery rate of the country is 98.47 percent. Talking about the corona test, in the last 24 hours, 4,98,034 tests have been done across the country. So far, about 87.06 crore corona tests have been done in the country.According to the Union Health Ministry data, In last 24 hours a decline of 563 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload. The active cases comprise 0.33% of the total infections.

According to the ministry, 2,00,61,24,684 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. According to Johns Hopkins University, so far 56.49 crore people have been infected with the corona virus worldwide, while 63.74 lakh people have died.In the most affected America, 898 million people have been infected and 10.24 lakh people have died. India is the second most affected country after America. In Brazil, the third most affected country, 6.76 lakh patients have died out of about 3.34 crore infected.
