Couple sexually assaulted adopted siblings in Gurugram, case registered

In yet another shocking incident, A case of sexually exploiting adopted children has come to light on a couple of the area under Sector-10A police station of Gurugram. Nitin Sharma and his wife had adopted the minor siblings, a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old girl, through the Indian Society for Rehabilitation, a Kolkata-based organisation, in March for over nearly three months.

New Delhi: A case of sexually exploiting adopted children has come to light on a couple of the area under Sector-10A police station of Cyber ​​City Gurugram, adjacent to Delhi. The couple had adopted both the children who are siblings and sent them back to Kolkata after allegedly sexually assaulting them for about 3 months.

The couple had adopted these children through an NGO. On the basis of the complaint made against the couple, the Gurugram police have started investigation by registering a case under POCSO and JJ Act. The police informed about this on Tuesday.

It is said that this matter has come to the fore during the medical examination of the children. According to Gurugram Police, Deepak Sinha of ‘Indian Society for Rehabilitation’ had complained in this regard. In this regard, a zero FIR was registered at Ravindra Sarobar police station in Kolkata on 29 November.

According to the complaint lodged by Deepak Sinha, Nitin Sharma and his wife, residents of Gurugram Sector-10A, had adopted a 2-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother from Kolkata on March 30. But on July 12, both the children were sent back to Kolkata.

It is said that before the return of the children to the shelter home, the medical test of both was done in which the matter of their sexual abuse came to the fore. On the basis of the complaint made in this regard, zero FIR was registered in Ravindra Sarobar police station.

According to information, Nitin Sharma and his wife, living in Sector-10A of Gurugram, adopted the children on March 30, 2022 and moved to Gurugram. After this, the couple left these children back to Kolkata on 12 July 2022. But before leaving him, sexual abuse has been detected in his medical examination.

An FIR has been registered at Gurugram’s Sector-10A police station under IPC sections 354 (sexual harassment), 120B (criminal conspiracy), JJ Act section 75, POCSO Act. Sector-10A police station in-charge Mukesh Kumari says that investigation has been started by registering a case in this regard.
