New Delhi: On Saturday, India recorded 15,940 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 8.1 per cent lower than yesterday, total tally of cases rose to 4,33,78,234, according to Union health ministry data updated. The total active cases of COVID-19 in India have risen to 91,779, the health ministry data showed today.

India recorded 20 new deaths in the last 24 hours. The total death toll in the country is now at 5,24,974. The country also reported 12,425 recoveries in a day. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 4,27,61,481, while the case fatality rate has been recorded at 1.21 per cent.

An increase of 3,495 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The ministry also informed that the active cases comprise 0.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.58 per cent.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.39 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 3.30 per cent, according to the ministry. The vaccination coverage has increased to 196.94 crore in the country. A total of 101.40 crore have been administered with the first dose of the vaccine while 91.16 croe are fully vaccinated as per the government’s data. And, 4,35 crore people have taken precaution dose as of June 24, the data added.
